The Louis Awode Foundation (LAF), in partnership with Dove Nigeria, has successfully concluded its “Girl in Bloom” initiative in commemoration of 2026 Menstrual Hygiene Day, impacting more than 100 female students at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Women’s Society Hostel.
Designed to advance menstrual health awareness and promote holistic wellbeing, the outreach combined a community wellness walk, reproductive health education, and the distribution of more than 100 Dove roll-ons to students.
The program reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to equipping young women with the knowledge, confidence, and resources needed to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
The event commenced with a wellness walk around the university community, bringing together students, Foundation representatives, and volunteers in an engaging demonstration of collective advocacy for healthy living.
The activity encouraged conversations around physical well-being, self-care, and the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles.
Participants later attended an interactive health education session focused on menstrual hygiene, reproductive health, personal care, and overall wellness. Facilitators provided evidence-based information and practical guidance and created a safe and inclusive environment where students could openly discuss issues affecting their health and wellbeing.
The program concluded with the presentation of more than 100 Dove roll-ons, generously donated by Dove Nigeria, ensuring that every participant received products to support personal hygiene and self-care.
